Ingredients/Components

  • cinnamon - 1 item
  • cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
  • water - 1/2 c
  • margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • unbaked pie crusts - 2 item
  • can frozen apple juice - 1 oz
  • or 6 pared and sliced apples - 5 item

How to make diabetic apple pie:

Heat apple juice to boiling. Fill pie shell with apples. Dissolve cornstarch in water and stir in HOT apple juice. Cook until thickened. Sprinkle cinnamon over apples; dot with margarine. Pour juice over all and cover with upper crust. Prick crust. Bake in 450° oven 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350° and bake until done, about 35 to 45 minutes.
