Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- soda - 2 tsp
- melted butter - 2 Tbsp
- boiling water - 2 c
- nuts - 1 c
- sifted flour - 3 c
- dates, cut fine - 2 c
- brown sugar 1 box - 2 c
How to make date nut bread:
Pour boiling water over dates and soda; let cool. Add brown sugar, eggs, flour, butter and nuts. Pour into loaf pans. Bake for 45 minutes at 325°.This recipe is from my great-grandmother, Ermina Frank, 1860.
