  • chopped nuts - 1 item
  • butter - 1/2 c

  • plain flour - 1 c

How to make danish puff:

Heat oven to 350°. Cut 1/2 cup butter into 1 cup flour until size of small peas. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons water over flour mixture. Mix. Make a ball of the mixture and divide into halves. Pat each half into rectangle, 12 x 3-inch, on ungreased cookie sheet, about 3 inches apart.

Heat 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup water to boil. Remove from heat. Stir in almond flavoring and 1 cup flour. Stir over low heat until mixture forms a ball, about 1 minute. Remove from heat. Add eggs and beat until smooth and glossy. Spread half of topping over each rectangle. Bake 1 hour.

Cool. Topping will shrink and fall, forming a custardy top. Spread with powdered sugar glaze. Sprinkle with nuts.
