Ingredients/Components

  • butter, softened - 1/2 c
  • eggs - 3 item
  • butter or margarine - 1/2 item
  • flour - 1 c
  • water - 2 Tbsp
  • almond extract - 1 tsp
  • margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • warm water - 1 2
  • cup water - 1 item
  • Cut 1/2 cup butter into 1 cup flour

How to make danish puffs:

Heat oven to 350°. Cut 1/2 cup butter into 1 cup flour. Sprinkle 2 Tbsp. water over mixture. Mix round into ball; divide in half. On ungreased baking sheet, pat each half into 12 x 3 inch strips.

Heat 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup water to rolling boil in medium saucepan. Remove from heat and quickly stir in 1 teaspoon extract and 1 cup of flour. Stir vigorously over low heat until mixture forms a ball- about 1 minute. Remove from heat. Beat in eggs all at once until smooth and glossy. Divide in half. Spread each half evenly over each strip. Bake 60 minutes or until topping is crisp and brown. Frost with Sugar Glaze and sprinkle with almonds.Sugar Glaze:1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar2 Tbsp. margarine1 1/2 tsp. almond extract1 to 2 Tbsp. warm water Mix until smooth.
