Mix together with a fork. Round into a ball and divide into two. Add almond flavoring. Remove from heat and add flour all at once to prevent lumping. When smooth and thick, add eggs, one at a time, beating until smooth. Divide batter in half and spread evenly over each piece of pastry. Bake 60 minutes at 350° until topping is crisp and nicely browned. You may want to leave it in the oven after it is turned off until it dries out a bit (like a cream puff). Frost with icing and sprinkle with slivered almonds.Icing:1 1/2 c. icing sugar2 Tbsp. margarine1 tsp. vanilla extract1 to 2 Tbsp. cream Combine and spread on pastry.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pies and tarts, Breakfast.
