Ingredients/Components

  • water - 1 c
  • stick margarine - 1 item
  • pinch of salt - 1 item
  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 4 item
  • flour - 1 c
  • Remove from heat
  • egg yolks - 2 item
  • vanilla extract - 1 tsp
  • cornstarch - 1/4 c
  • margarine - 2 tsp
  • jar maraschino cherries - 1 item
  • confectioners sugar - 2 Tbsp

How to make cream puffs:

In saucepan bring water to a boil. Remove from heat. Add salt, sugar and margarine. Stir until margarine is melted. Add flour, stir well. Add eggs until well blended. Place by tablespoon on ungreased cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Bake in 400° oven 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Set aside to cool.Filling:2 c. milk2 egg yolks1/2 c. sugar1 tsp. vanilla extract1/4 c. cornstarch2 tsp. margarine1 jar maraschino cherries2 Tbsp. confectioners sugar Beat egg yolks until frothy. Place all ingredients in saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Let cool. Open tops of puffs. Fill and close. Garnish with cherry. Dust with confectioners sugar. Refrigerate 1 to 2 hours.
