Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- water - 1/4 c
- cold water - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- egg whites - 4 item
- cream - 1 c
- lemon flavoring - 1 tsp
- white corn syrup - 2 Tbsp
- Add salt and slowly add sugar
How to make cream cake:
Whip cream stiff. Add salt and slowly add sugar. Sift flour and baking powder together; add alternately with water to whipped cream mixture. Add stiffly beaten egg whites and flavoring. Bake in layers at 375°. Put layers together with your favorite vanilla, coconut or lemon filling. Frost with Angel Icing.Angel Icing:2 egg whites2 c. sugar2 Tbsp. white corn syrup1/4 c. water1 tsp. vanilla pinch of salt Beat egg whites with salt until they stand in peaks. Boil sugar, water and syrup until it forms 2 threads from a spoon. Pour into egg whites, beating constantly. Beat until icing will hold its shape.
