Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cream cheese - 8 oz
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- eggs, separated - 5 item
- coconut - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- nuts - 1 c
- powdered sugar - 1 lb
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- oleo - 1/2 c
- stick oleo - 1 item
How to make italian cream cake:
Beat egg whites until stiff; set aside. Mix sugar, stick of oleo, Crisco, buttermilk, egg yolks, flour, soda, nuts and coconut together. Fold in egg whites. Spread in 9 x 13-inch greased and floured cake pan. Bake at 300° for 45 to 55 minutes.Combine cream cheese, 1/2 cup oleo, powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat until fluffy. Spread on cooled cake.
