Cuban black bean soup
Ingredients/Components
- butter - 1/4 c
- pepper - 2 Tbsp
- salt to taste - 1 item
- tomato paste - 1/4 c
- ground cumin - 1 tsp
- red wine - 1/2 c
- onion, minced - 1 c
- bay leaves - 4 item
- dried black beans - 1 lb
- bell pepper, minced - 1 c
- smoked ham, chopped - 1 c
- fresh cilantro, chopped for garnish - 1/4 c
How to make cuban black bean soup:
Sort and wash the beans. Put into large pan and pour 8 cups of water over beans. Boil gently until soft; takes about 2 hours. Add all other ingredients, except cilantro. Continue to boil gently until soup is thick. Serves 8.Recipe categories: Soups & stews, Beans, Black beans.
