Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 2 tsp
- granulated sugar - 1/2 c
- milk - 1/2 c
- butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- egg yolk - 1 item
- dry yeast - 1 pkg
- warm water 105~ to 115~ - 1/4 c
- egg and 1 egg white - 1 item
- In saucepan, combine milk and butter; cut into pieces
How to make crumb cake:
Dissolve yeast in warm water. In saucepan, combine milk and butter; cut into pieces. Heat until just lukewarm. In mixing bowl, combine 1 egg and egg white, salt, sugar and 1/2 cup flour. Add remaining flour. Beat into a stiff batter for 2 minutes at high speed if using mixer. Spread into a greased 9 x 9-inch baking pan. Sprinkle topping over the dough; cover. Let rise in a warm place until almost doubled, about 1 hour. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool on a rack. Cut into squares.Topping:5 Tbsp. butter or margarine1/2 c. granulated sugar1 egg yolk1 c. flour2 tsp. cinnamon Cream together butter and sugar. Blend in egg, flour and cinnamon.
