Creamy spinach casserole
Ingredients/Components
- frozen chopped spinach - 10 oz
- cream cheese, softened - 3 oz
- butter or margarine, melted and divided - 1/4 c
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- soft bread crumbs - 1/2 c
- ground sage optional - 1/4 tsp
- hard-cooked egg, sliced optional - 1 item
How to make creamy spinach casserole:
Cook spinach according to package and drain very dry. Combine spinach, cream cheese, 2 tablespoons butter, salt and pepper and mix well. Spoon into a greased 1-quart baking dish. Combine bread crumbs and sage and sprinkle over spinach mixture. Drizzle remaining 2 tablespoons butter over crumbs. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 20 minutes. Garnish with egg slices.
