  • medium potatoes, cubed - 6 item
  • bunch green onions, minced - 1 item
  • frozen peas - 1 pkg
  • stick margarine - 1 item
  • flour - 4 Tbsp
  • milk
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • pepper to taste - 1 item

How to make creamed peas and potatoes:

Peel potatoes and cut into serving sized chunks. Cook potatoes and onions in boiling water in 12-inch Dutch oven until tender but still firm. Add frozen peas and return to heat. Bring to a boil. Drain water and set aside. In a 12-inch Dutch oven, melt margarine. Add flour to make a thick paste. Cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Do not brown. Add milk to desired thickness. Continue stirring. Return peas, onions and potatoes to cream sauce. Add salt, sugar and pepper. Heat thoroughly with 8 coals on top and 8 coals on the bottom.
