- medium onion - 1 item
- cloves garlic - 3 item
- small jar pimientos - 1 item
- pinch of saffron - 1 item
- jar mushrooms - 1 item
- rice not instant - 1 c
- can consomme - 1 item
- small amount of oil - 1 item
- cans hot water use consomme empty can to measure - 3 item
How to make spanish rice:
Chop garlic and onion. Saute in a small amount of oil. Add rice and stir for a few minutes to pick up the flavor. Add saffron, consomme, water, pimientos and mushrooms. Bring to a boil and bake covered in a 10-inch Dutch oven for 1 hour over medium heat.Recipe categories: Low protein, Low fat, Side dish.
