Ingredients/Components

  • chocolate cake mix - 1 pkg
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • cold milk, divided
  • whipping cream - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 1/4 tsp
  • 9 oz
  • carton Cool Whip, thawed - 1 oz
  • Nestle Crunch candy bars, crumbled - 4 item

How to make sweetheart trifle:

Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Pour batter into greased 13 x 9 x 2 baking pan. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes or until done. Cool.

In heavy saucepan, combine chips, 1/4 cup milk and whipping cream. Cook over low heat, stirring, until chips are melted. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla. Place the remaining milk in a mixing bowl or blender. Beat in pudding mix on low speed for 2 minutes.

To Assemble: Crumble half of the cake into a 4-quart trifle bowl or large bowl. Layer with half the peanut butter sauce pudding, whipping topping and candy bars. Repeat layers. Cover and refrigerate for 3 hours before serving.
