Ingredients/Components

  • butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 2 Tbsp
  • melted butter - 1 Tbsp
  • lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
  • soft bread crumbs
  • mustard - 1 tsp
  • crabmeat - 2 c
  • milk or cream - 1 c

How to make crab imperial:

Heat milk or cream in a small saucepan. Thoroughly mix the mustard and flour into melted fat and stir heated milk or cream into mixture. Cook until thickened; remove from heat and add remaining ingredients except bread crumbs. Mix well and spoon mixture into clam shells. Top with buttered bread crumbs. Bake at 350° until heated through or place 4 to 5 inches below broiler unit until lightly browned.
