Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- water - 6 Tbsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- ground beef
- large onions, chopped - 2 item
- carrots, chopped - 4 item
- 1/2 sticks margarine - 1 item
- large potatoes, peeled and chopped - 2 item
How to make cornish pasties:
Filling:1 lb. ground beef2 large onions, chopped2 large potatoes, peeled and chopped4 carrots, chopped1 tsp. salt1/2 tsp. pepper Cut margarine into flour, salt, baking powder and salt mixture with a pastry blender. Add water and stir until water is absorbed. Form into ball and knead on lightly floured board for 2 minutes. Chill for 30 minutes. Divide into 6 pieces and roll into 10-inch rounds. Put 1/6 of filling on one side of each round. Fold over and crimp edges. Cut small slit in top. Place on greased baking sheet and bake 1 hour at 350°.Filling: Brown the ground beef. Add chopped onions, potatoes and carrots and cook 10 minutes. Add seasonings, mixing well.
