Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- milk - 1/3 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- water - 2 c
- baking powder
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chili powder - 1 Tbsp
- chopped green pepper - 1/2 c
- melted shortening - 1 Tbsp
- ground beef - 1 lb
- can tomato soup - 1 item
- large onion - 1 item
- corn meal
- whole kernel corn, drained - 1 c
How to make tamale pie:
Corn Bread Topping:3/4 c. corn meal1 Tbsp. flour1 Tbsp. sugar1/2 tsp. salt1 1/2 tsp. baking powder1 egg, beaten1/3 c. milk1 Tbsp. melted shortening Pan-fry ground beef, onion and green pepper in skillet. Add tomato soup, water, corn and seasonings. Simmer 15 minutes. Mix topping. Pour meat mixture into a 2-quart baking dish, and drop topping over meat mixture by spoonfuls.
