Cornbread dressing
Ingredients/Components
- chopped celery - 1 c
- salt to taste - 1 item
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- poultry seasoning - 2 Tbsp
- black pepper to taste - 1 item
- recipe cornbread - 1 item
- hard-boiled eggs, finely chopped - 6 item
- broth from boiled chicken - 1 item
- slices light bread - 5 item
- pinch of sage to taste - 1 item
- cooked chicken, chopped bite size - 2 c
How to make cornbread dressing:
Partly cook onion and celery in broth. In a large bowl crumble cornbread and light bread. Add seasonings. Add cooked onion and celery and enough broth to make a medium consistency. Add the chopped eggs and chicken, mix real good. Bake at 350° until firm, but soft.Note: I mix my breads and seasonings together the night before. Makes a tastier dressing.
