Ingredients/Components
- buttermilk - 1 c
- egg - 1 item
- grease or oil - 2 Tbsp
- Hot Rise self-rising corn meal - 1 item
How to make cornbread:
Put grease or oil in iron skillet. Heat in 450° oven until very hot. Meanwhile, beat egg well; stir in buttermilk. Just before skillet is ready, stir in enough corn meal to be medium thick. When skillet is hot, pour 1/2 hot oil in batter. Stir in well. Pour cornbread mixture into skillet.
