Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1/2 c
- buttermilk
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 1/4 c
- yellow cornmeal
How to make corn bread:
Heat oven to 450°. Grease 9-inch round or 8 x 8-inch square pan. Mix all ingredients. Beat vigorously 30 seconds. Pour into pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Southern u.s..
