Coffee cake

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 1 c
• cinnamon - 1/4 tsp
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• milk - 1 c
• salt - 1/2 tsp
• flour
• brown sugar - 1/3 c
• butter
• baking powder - 2 tsp
• egg - 1 item
• shortening - 1/4 c

How to make coffee cake:

Topping:2 Tbsp. sugar1/3 c. brown sugar1 1/2 Tbsp. butter1/4 tsp. cinnamon Cream sugar and shortening. Add egg and beat well. Alternately add dry ingredients and milk. Add vanilla and beat. Place in well greased or Pam sprayed 8 or 9-inch square pan. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes.

Ten or 15 minutes before cake is done, sprinkle with topping mixture. May also add 1/4 cup chopped nuts or coconut.

Topping: Work together all ingredients with fork until crumbly.
