  • Crisco - 1/2 c
  • whole eggs - 6 item
  • box coconut - 1 item
  • milk - 1 c
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • plain flour - 3 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • sugar
  • Add eggs
  • water - 1 c
  • coconut extract - 3 tsp
  • white Karo syrup - 1/2 c

How to make coconut pound cake:

Cream the Crisco and sugar. Add eggs. Add flour, baking powder, salt and milk. Beat well. Add vanilla and coconut. Pour into a tube pan which has been well-greased and floured. Bake at 325° for 1 hour. Pour Sauce over top.Sauce:2 c. sugar1 c. water3 tsp. coconut extract1/2 c. white Karo syrup Boil all ingredients for 5 minutes. Pour over cake.
