Ingredients/Components

  • 9-inch unbaked pastry crust
  • milk
  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla extract
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • ground nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
  • coconut - 1 c
  • sweetened whipped cream - 1 item

How to make coconut custard pie:

In bowl, combine milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla, salt and nutmeg. Beat well to blend. Sprinkle coconut into pastry shell. Pour egg mixture over coconut. Bake at 425° for 20 to 25 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool and serve garnished with whipped cream. Yields one 9-inch pie.
