Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- water - 3/4 c
- coconut - 1 c
- oil - 1 c
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- nuts, chopped - 1 c
- coconut flavoring - 2 tsp
How to make coconut bread:
Glaze:1 tsp. coconut flavoring3 Tbsp. butter3/4 c. water1 1/2 c. sugar Blend eggs, 2 cups sugar, oil and 2 teaspoons flavoring. Blend dry ingredients. Alternate flour and milk into egg mixture. Add nuts and coconut. Bake at 325° for 1 hour. Makes 2 loaves.Glaze: Simmer glaze in pan for 5 minutes. Pour 1/2 of glaze on hot cakes. Save remaining 1/2 of glaze for the next time you make cake.
