Citrus cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- milk - 1 c
- vanilla extract - 1 tsp
- confectioners sugar - 1 item
- almond extract - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- sifted cake flour - 2 c
- butter/margarine - 1 c
- small can concentrated orange juice - 1 item
How to make citrus cake:
Cream butter, adding sugar gradually in small bowl. In large bowl, sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add 1 egg at a time to creamed mixture, blending well after each addition. Mix creamed mixture with milk and flavorings alternately to flour mixture. Blend well after each addition. Bake in preheated 350° oven for 45 to 55 minutes.Glaze: Melt 1/2 can of concentrated orange juice with confectioners sugar to taste over low heat until sugar has dissolved. Place glaze over warm cake after cooling.
