Cinnamon rolls
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 5 c
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- oleo - 1 c
- warm water - 1/2 c
- dry yeast - 2 pkg
How to make cinnamon rolls:
Stir yeast and 2 tablespoons sugar in warm water. Let set 15 minutes. Heat milk and 1/2 cup oleo in saucepan. Measure sugar and salt in large mixing bowl. Pour in milk mixture. Stir until dissolved. When lukewarm, add eggs and yeast mixture. Add 2 1/2 cups flour; stir. Add remaining flour and mix well. Turn out on floured board. Knead until smooth and elastic for 5 minutes. Place in greased bowl; let rise until double in bulk, about 2 hours. Punch down and let dough rest for 30 minutes. Roll dough out on floured board. Spread other 1/2 cup oleo over the dough. Mix cinnamon and sugar (1/4 cup and 3/4 cup). Sprinkle over the oleo; roll and slice. You may leave some for doughnuts.
