Cinnamon raisin bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- raisins - 3/4 c
- warm water - 1 c
- stick melted butter - 1/2 item
- active dry yeast - 1 pkg
- small egg yolk, slightly beaten - 1 item
How to make cinnamon raisin bread:
Mix dry yeast into warm water. Set aside. Mix sugar, salt, cinnamon and butter. Stir in yeast mixture and egg yolk. Beat in 1 1/2 cups flour. Add raisins. Stir in remaining flour. Knead on floured surface. Sprinkle flour on hands and work on surface until dough no longer sticks. Knead for approximately 7 to 10 minutes. Form into ball and place into buttered bowl. Roll and turn in bowl to grease entire ball (approximately 1 tablespoon butter, softened). Cover and place in warm place for 1 hour or until double in size. Punch down and shape into loaf. Place in greased bread pan. Cover with cloth; let rise 35 to 40 minutes. Bake in preheated oven at 400° for 30 to 35 minutes. Makes 1 loaf.Recipe categories: Breads, Low fat, Yeast breads.
