Cincinnati chili
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- salt
- vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 tsp
- chili powder - 4 Tbsp
- ground beef - 2 lb
- cans tomato sauce - 2 oz
- red pepper - 1/2 tsp
- cumin - 1 tsp
- large bay leaf - 1 item
- powder - 4 cloves
- medium onions, finely chopped - 2 item
- 1/2 sq - 1/2 oz
How to make cincinnati chili:
In a 4-quart saucepan, add ground beef to 1 quart water. Stir until the beef separates to a fine texture. Boil slowly 1/2 hour. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer for 3 hours. Refrigerate overnight.Skim off fat. Reheat and serve over thin spaghetti or over hot dogs as a chili dog.
A 3-way consists of a layer of cheese over chili dog or chili spaghetti.
A 4-way consists of cheese and onions over chili dog or chili spaghetti.
A 5-way consists of cheese, onions and beans over chili spaghetti. Serves 8.
