Christmas fruit salad
Ingredients/Components
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- water - 3 Tbsp
- vinegar - 3 Tbsp
- miniature marshmallows - 3 c
- lemon juice - 3 Tbsp
- whipping cream, whipped - 2 c
- can mandarin oranges, drained - 1 oz
- egg yolks, beaten - 3 item
- can pineapple tidbits, drained - 1 oz
- halves green grapes - 2 c
- jar red maraschino cherries, drained and sliced - 1 oz
How to make christmas fruit salad:
In a large saucepan, combine egg yolks, water, vinegar and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and reaches 160°. Remove from heat and cool. Fold in whipped cream.In a large bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Add dressing. Toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 24 hours. Yield: 12 to 14 servings.
