Chocolate thumbprint cookies
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- water - 1 Tbsp
- chocolate chips
- shortening - 1 Tbsp
- margarine - 1/2 c
- light corn syrup - 2 Tbsp
- chocolate chips, chopped - 1/4 c
How to make chocolate thumbprint cookies:
Filling:3/4 c. chocolate chips1 Tbsp. shortening2 Tbsp. light corn syrup1 Tbsp. water1 tsp. vanilla Sift flour and salt. Cream shortening and sugar. Add vanilla, flour mixture and milk. Add chopped chocolate chips. Shape dough in walnut-size pieces and place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Press thumb in top to make a well (I use end of wooden spoon). Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 375°. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar while warm.Filling: Melt 3/4 cup chocolate chips over hot water, stirring frequently. Add other ingredients. Fill each cookie. Makes 3 to 4 dozen.
