- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- instant chocolate pudding - 1 (3
- water - 1/2 c
- vegetable oil - 1/4 c
- rum - 1/4 c
- stick margarine or butter - 1 item
- box Duncan Hines chocolate butter cake mix - 1 item
How to make chocolate rum cake:
Cake Glaze:1 c. sugar1 stick margarine or butter1/4 c. water1/4 c. rum Butter and flour a tube pan. Sprinkle nuts in bottom of pan. In large bowl, put all cake ingredients and beat 3 to 4 minutes until smooth. Pour into prepared pan and bake 50 to 60 minutes at 350°.Make glaze as soon as you put cake in oven. To make glaze, mix sugar, margarine and water. Let simmer slowly, stirring often. Add rum last. Spoon over cake as soon as it is removed from oven. Freezes well.
For yellow cake, use Duncan Hines yellow butter mix and vanilla pudding.
