Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter - 1/2 lb
- cocoa - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- vegetable shortening - 1/2 c
- sifted flour - 3 c
- whole eggs - 5 item
How to make chocolate pound cake:
Cream together butter and shortening. Beat into this mixture sugar and eggs, adding each egg, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift together flour, baking powder, cocoa and salt. To this mixture, add milk and vanilla. Combine the flour mixture, milk and vanilla mixture alternately, beginning with the flour mixture. Pour in greased and floured tube pan.
