- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 2/3 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter - 1 lb
- cocoa - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1/4 tsp
- vegetable shortening - 1/2 c
- cake flour - 3 c
- sweet milk
How to make chocolate pound cake:
Frosting:2 c. sugar1/4 c. cocoa1/4 tsp. salt2/3 c. milk1/2 c. vegetable shortening Cake: Sift dry ingredients together. Cream the butter and sugar. Add ingredients and mix well. Cook 1 hour and 25 minutes at 300°.Frosting: Boil fast for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Beat until creamy.
