Ingredients/Components
- flour - 1 c
- sugar - 1 c
- soft butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- can chocolate syrup - 1 oz
- powdered sugar
- butter - 1/2 c
- mint extract - 1/2 tsp
- drops green food coloring - 3 item
- semi-sweet chocolate chips - 1 c
How to make chocolate mint bars:
Mint Layer:2 c. powdered sugar1/2 c. butter1/2 tsp. mint extract3 drops green food coloring Chocolate Topping:6 Tbsp. butter1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips Cake Layer: Heat oven to 350°. Grease 9 x 13-inch pan. Combine flour, sugar, butter, eggs and syrup; beat with mixer until smooth. Pour into prepared pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes. Cool completely.Mint Cream Layer: Combine powdered sugar, butter, mint extract and food coloring; beat until smooth. Spread on cake; cover and chill.
Chocolate Topping: In a small saucepan over low heat, melt butter and chips. Remove from heat; stir until smooth. Cool slightly. Pour over mint layer. Refrigerate.
