Chocolate meringue pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- milk
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- cornstarch - 7 Tbsp
- cocoa - 1 Tbsp
- egg yolks, slightly beaten - 3 item
How to make chocolate meringue pie:
In saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, chocolate and salt. Mix well. Gradually stir in milk, mixing smooth.Over medium heat, bring to a boil. Boil 2 minutes and remove from heat. Stir 1/2 hot mixture into eggs. Stir well. Add rest of hot mixture. Boil 1 minute. Stir in vanilla and pour into pie shells. Mix meringue and pour into pie shells. Bake 7 to 10 minutes at 400°. Cool and serve.
