  • sugar - 2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • soda - 2 tsp
  • baking powder - 1/4 tsp
  • baking soda - 3/4 tsp
  • shortening - 2/3 c
  • eggs unbeaten - 4 item
  • cocoa, melted in hot coffee - 3 Tbsp

How to make chocolate layer cake:

Measure into mixing bowl (all measurements level). Mix first 7 ingredients. Now, add rest of ingredients and beat well. Pour into baking pans and bake in a 350° oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until done.
