  • sugar - 1 c
  • vanilla - 1/2 tsp
  • milk - 1 c
  • flour
  • stick butter - 1 item
  • Crisco - 1/4 c
  • box Swiss chocolate cake mix - 1 item

How to make chocolate layer cake:

Filling:4 Tbsp. flour1 c. milk1 stick butter1 c. sugar1/4 c. Crisco1/2 tsp. vanilla Make cake as directed on the box. Bake and split into 4 layers, using a piece of thread. Cook the flour and milk in a double boiler until it thickens.

In a mixing bowl, add butter, sugar, Crisco and vanilla. Add the thickened mixture to these ingredients and beat until blended smooth. Chill well before filling between layers. Frost with chocolate icing.
