- milk - 2 c
- vanilla extract - 1 tsp
- butter or margarine - 1/4 c
- egg yolks - 4 item
- cocoa - 1/4 c
- all-purpose flour - 1/2 c
- dash of salt - 1 item
- 1/4 c sugar - 1 item
- baked 9-inch pastry shell - 1 item
How to make chocolate cream pie:
Combine first 4 ingredients in a saucepan; set sugar mixture aside. Combine egg yolks and milk; stir into sugar mixture. Add butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla. Spoon into pastry shell. Spread meringue over hot filling.
