Ingredients/Components

  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • granulated sugar - 1/2 c
  • salt - 3/4 tsp
  • brown sugar - 1/4 c
  • soda - 1/2 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • semi-sweet chocolate pieces - 6 oz
  • sifted all-purpose flour - 1 c

How to make chocolate chippers:

Cream shortening, sugars, egg and vanilla until light and fluffy. Sift together dry ingredients; stir into creamed mixture and blend well. Add chocolate pieces. Drop from teaspoon 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet. Bake in moderate oven at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from sheet immediately. Makes 3 dozen.
