Ingredients/Components

  • eggs - 2 item
  • chopped pecans - 1 c
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • vanilla extract - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • all-purpose flour - 2 c
  • butter or margarine, softened - 1 c
  • firmly packed light brown sugar
  • rolled oats not instant - 1/2 c

How to make chocolate chip cookies:

Preheat oven to 350°. In blender or food processor, process oats until coarse flour. In a small bowl combine ground oats, flour, salt and baking soda. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl with electric mixer on high, beat butter and brown sugar until light and creamy. Beat in eggs and vanilla until well combined. Gradually stir in flour mixture until combined.

Stir in chocolate chips and pecans. Drop dough by scant 1/4 cupfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake 15 to 18 minutes at 350° until golden. Remove to wire racks. Cool completely. Makes 32 cookies. Per cookie: 206 calories, 13 g. fat.
