Ingredients/Components
- butter - 1/2 lb
- squares chocolate unsweetened - 2 item
- cup sugar - 1 item
- cup white karo syrup - 3/4 item
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- cup thick whipping cream - 1/2 item
How to make chocolate caramels:
Cook and stir over low heat the above to soft ball stage 240. Add 1/2 cup cream and cook to soft ball stage 240. Add 1/2 cup cream and paraffin wax (size of a walnut) cook to firm ball stage 248. Pour into buttered pan- let set till cool, then cut and wrap.**The last cooking part it becomes very thick and you have to be careful not to let it burn.
