- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 2/3 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- cocoa - 2/3 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- Crisco - 2/3 c
- butter or oleo, softened - 1/4 lb
- Mix 2 minutes
How to make chocolate cake:
In large bowl, mix flour, sugar, Crisco, cocoa and milk. Mix 2 minutes. Add baking powder, baking soda, salt and vanilla; beat 2 minutes. Add eggs and milk alternately. Bake in 2 (9-inch) pans at 350° for 30 minutes. Remove, let cool, then frost.Frosting:1 box confectioners sugar1/4 lb. butter or oleo, softened1 tsp. vanilla3 to 4 Tbsp. cocoa Mix all ingredients in bowl; add enough milk to create the right consistency.Recipe categories: Desserts, Chocolate, Cakes.
