  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 2/3 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • cocoa - 2/3 c
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • Crisco - 2/3 c
  • butter or oleo, softened - 1/4 lb
  • Mix 2 minutes

How to make chocolate cake:

In large bowl, mix flour, sugar, Crisco, cocoa and milk. Mix 2 minutes. Add baking powder, baking soda, salt and vanilla; beat 2 minutes. Add eggs and milk alternately. Bake in 2 (9-inch) pans at 350° for 30 minutes. Remove, let cool, then frost.Frosting:1 box confectioners sugar1/4 lb. butter or oleo, softened1 tsp. vanilla3 to 4 Tbsp. cocoa Mix all ingredients in bowl; add enough milk to create the right consistency.
