- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 6 Tbsp
- flour - 2 c
- butter - 1 c
- water - 1 c
- cocoa - 1/4 c
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts optional - 1 c
- powdered sugar 4 c - 1 lb
- In a saucepan, mix water, cocoa and butter together
How to make chocolate cake:
In large bowl, sift flour and sugar together. In a saucepan, mix water, cocoa and butter together. Bring to boil. Pour over sugar and flour mixture; blend. Add remaining ingredients. This cake is baked in a greased 10 x 15-inch jelly roll pan. Bake at 375° for 25 minutes.Five minutes before cake is done, prepare icing.Icing:1/2 c. butter1/4 c. cocoa6 Tbsp. milk1 lb. powdered sugar (4 c.)1 c. chopped nuts (optional)1 tsp. vanilla Mix butter, cocoa and milk in saucepan; cook to boil. Add the powdered sugar, chopped nuts and vanilla; blend. Pour over cake while still hot.
