Chinese pepper steak
Ingredients/Components
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1/4 c
- oil - 3 Tbsp
- ginger - 1/4 tsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- soy sauce - 1/4 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- green peppers - 2 item
- large tomato - 1 item
- tsp sugar - 1/2 item
- round or flake steak - 1 1
How to make chinese pepper steak:
Slice meat diagonally into thin strips. Combine cornstarch, sugar and ginger; stir into soy sauce. Pour mixture over meat. Stir; marinate for several hours or overnight. Cut peppers into wedges. Quickly brown meat in hot oil, about half at a time; remove from pan and keep warm. Lower heat; add peppers, garlic and water. cook until peppers are tender crisp (5 minutes). Stir meat back back into pan; add tomatoes. Heat and serve. Good served over rice. Can be made in crock-pot. Also stew beef can be used instead of steak.Recipe categories: Main dish, Beef, Rice.
