Chinese cucumber salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- soy sauce - 1 Tbsp
- white wine vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- medium cucumber - 1 item
- sesame seed oil - 1 tsp
- monosodium glutamate optional - 1/4 tsp
How to make chinese cucumber salad:
Peel the cucumber. Cut into very thin slices. Sprinkle salt and let stand for at least 20 minutes. Drain thoroughly.Mix wine vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, sesame seed oil and monosodium glutamate in bowl. Pour over drained cucumbers. Mix and serve cold.
Tips: Be sure the sauce is mixed with cucumber at the last minute to keep the color of the cucumber light. If sesame oil is not available, any light salad oil may be used.
