Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- water - 5 c
- vegetable oil - 2 Tbsp
- paprika - 1 Tbsp
- cloves garlic, minced - 3 item
- chili powder - 1/4 c
- oregano - 1 tsp
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- cayenne pepper - 1/2 tsp
- cumin - 1 Tbsp
- lean tender beef, cubed - 3 lb
How to make chili con carne:
Heat oil in a Dutch oven and saute the onion until soft. Add the meat, garlic, chili powder and cumin. Cook until the meat is browned. Add remaining ingredients and stir well. Simmer about 2 hours. Serves 8.Recipe categories: Main dish, Beef, Chili.
