Ingredients/Components

  • water - 9 c
  • margarine - 1/4 c
  • pepper - 1/4 1/2
  • chopped onion - 1 c
  • chopped celery - 1 c
  • bay leaf - 1 item
  • chopped parsley - 1 Tbsp
  • diced carrots - 1 c
  • diced cooked chicken - 4 c
  • marjoram leaves - 1/2 tsp
  • uncooked medium noodles - 4 oz
  • chicken-flavored bouillon or 8 cubes - 8 tsp

How to make chicken noodle soup:

In Dutch oven, cook celery and onion in margarine until tender and add water, chicken, carrots, bouillon, marjoram, pepper and bay leaf. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer 30 minutes.

Remove bay leaf. Add noodles and parsley. Cook 10 minutes longer or until noodles are tender. Good any time, but especially when sick with cold, flu, etc.
