  • chicken legs with thighs - 4 item
  • corn oil - 2 Tbsp
  • butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • cloves garlic, pressed - 2 item
  • small onion, peeled and chopped - 1 item
  • plum tomatoes, peeled and chopped
  • marjoram, chopped
  • oregano - 2 tsp
  • basil, chopped - 1 Tbsp
  • thyme, chopped - 1/2 tsp
  • rosemary, chopped - 1/2 tsp
  • can tomato paste - 1 oz
  • water
  • fresh lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
  • dry white wine - 1 c
  • green pepper, chopped - 1 item
  • black pepper - 1/2 tsp

How to make chicken cacciatore:

Pour off excess fat, leaving the brown drippings in the broiler pan. Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of water to pan; heat and stir. Season to taste. Unthickened gravy is best for steaks.
