Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • flour - 1/2 c
  • oil - 1/4 c
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • caraway seed - 1/4 tsp
  • shredded cabbage - 6 c
  • small onion - 1 item
  • fryer, cut up - 1 item
  • chicken bouillon - 1 c

How to make chicken and cabbage casserole:

Mix flour, salt and pepper and coat chicken. Reserve flour. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat and brown chicken on both sides. Remove.

Saute onion in fat until golden brown and tender and then stir in caraway seed and rest of flour mix until smooth. Gradually add milk and bouillon. Cook and stir until thick. Spread cabbage in pan. Pour sauce over and top with chicken. Cover and bake at 375° for 50 minutes.
