  • sugar - 1 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • flour - 1 Tbsp
  • butter - 1/4 c
  • water - 1 Tbsp
  • egg yolks - 3 item
  • vinegar
  • pie shell - 1 item

How to make chess pie:

Cream butter and 1 cup sugar. Add flour. Add egg yolks, water, vinegar and vanilla. Bake at 325° for 45 minutes in uncooked pie shell. Cover with meringue made with whites of egg and remaining sugar.
